What a gem in our own backyard. The Hampton Mansion was built by the Ridgely family in the 1790s and owned by them until the 1940s. Here is their parlor with its painted Baltimore chairs, furniture Baltimore was noted for in the early 1800s. The Ridgely family made their family fortune supplying iron to the Revolutionaries during the War of Independence. Several garden clubs have decorated the house for the holiday season.
