The Essex County Presby Memorial Iris Gardens was established in 1927 to honor Frank H. Presby of Montclair, a leading horticulturalist and a founder of The American Iris Society. This living museum, listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Sites, offers a spectacular display of thousands of iris varieties to visitors from all over the world. Bloom Status
Our miniature dwarf and standard dwarf bearded irises are currently blooming along our fence.
Due to recent warm weather, the tall bearded irises are blooming ahead of schedule. Plan a visit between Friday, May 7 and Sunday, June 6. Peak bloom is expected around May 22, but there will be blooms through the end of May.
The gardens are open for viewing daily, Monday, May 10 – Sunday, June 6, including weekends and holidays, from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
