The other day I was lucky to get a mixed pack of gladiolas to play with.  As I was carrying them to the car a woman stopped me and said how pretty they were but she normally didn’t like them.  “Let me guess why?”  I asked her. “Do they remind you of a funeral home?”  “Yes,” she replied.  Indeed glads are often used in large arrangements because of their height as spokes in the backdrop- their tips reaching to the sky in a wavy fashion.  I showed her how she could break apart the “secunds” (bisexual flowerets) and use them separately.  She liked that better.  Here are two different ways you can have fun using them.
