Last night mechanics were spotlighted.  How to keep these gladiolas upright in a lovely vase that clearly would not support them.  If you look closely you will see at the bottom of the vase, a pin holder or metal frog.  I attached some floral sticky tape to its underside to keep it in place.  
 Even though I had dried the vase numerous times there seemed to be several drops of water lingering.  This tape is powerful stuff but not impervious to H20.  I was fortunate to catch this picture before the glads tumbled over.  I needed a larger frog to hold them up.  After the picture was taken I covered the pin holder with some deep green straw like material.  In the end the glads dramatically display their height and stateliness in this oversized fern glass.
