Noblesse Oblige
In the York Times’ Home Section this past Thursday, there was an article about a renovation done in the Hudson Valley of a home that was built for the noblesse oblige to play tennis under a vaulted roof and swim in an expansive pool at the turn of the 19th century.
With that in mind this glass vase with a gold band by its very shape drops pearls and sports fleurs that one would think have constantly been in vogue, a tulip and a rose. The rose is a chameleon. As it opens the cream turns to pale yellow yet all the while tinged with pink. The rim of yet another Bordeaux to drink.
