Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia, just off of Interstate 95, is a place to learn about plants and marvel at nature. Each year we host GardenFest of Lights, which attracts thousands of visitors to take in the wonder of our botanical garden dressed in holiday lights and splendor.

GardenFest is holiday tradition! The show features more than a half million lights arranged in botanical themes throughout the Garden. Visitors can also marvel at displays in the Garden’s Conservatory and decorations in the VisitorsCenter and the Education and Library Complex. Holiday dinners are available in the Garden Café and in the Robins Tea House (Tea House dinners require Garden admission and reservations, please call (804) 262-9887, ext. 329. Merry Mondays on Monday evenings include storytelling for kids with the Garden Keeper and Butterfly Fairy.

You also won’t want to miss the Garden in its daytime splendor. The garden blooms year-round with beauty and includes more than 40 acres of spectacular gardens as well as shopping and dining. A 63-foot tall Conservatory houses orchids, exotic plants and changing displays. Outdoor areas feature nearly a dozen garden themes including a rose garden, a Healing Garden, a Sunken Garden, an Asian Garden and a Children’s Garden – complete with wheelchair accessible Tree House andWaterPlay.   1800 Lakeside Ave. (804) 262-9887. www.lewisginter.org. 9 a.m. -5 p.m. daily. Cost, $6 – $10, free for members.
