Imitating Art

March 23, 2009

This exquisite pot was more than a challenge. Making daffodils (undersized to boot) look natural with the wind (blow dryer) showing movement and leaves that stand upright was impossible. Hours were spent all for naught. Never again shall we try to recreate what the artist/potter achieved in his/her depicting the beauty of spring against a black backdrop. The only achievement in this arrangement is the green around the oasis which let the inside yellow glaze shine through. Duke said, “That’s enough. Take me for a walk.”
