Waverly Farmer's Market Bouquet

Saturday mornings at the Waverly Farmer’s Market make you feel the day of the year.  The end of summer shows itself by the flowers in this bouquet – dahlias, sunflowers, celosia, goldenrod and asters.  What a joy to carry them home.  I gridded my vase with clear tape so that I could position the flowers because the galvanized pail’s mouth was too wide to just plunk the flowers in.  I also added some salal leaves, rosemary and truly, the seed head from grass that had grown too tall near our side fence.
