In 1926 Japan gave Philadelphia 1,600 cherry blossom trees.  Each spring the warm skies usher in the Sakura Matsuri, the Japanese name for Cherry Blossom Festival, to Philadlephia sponsored in part by Subaru. The akebono cherry blossoms started to bloom the weekend of March 21st around the corner from the University of Pennsylvania.  The big festivities will be held in the city’s Fairmont Park the weekend of April 5th.  The City of Brotherly Love says, “Dozo oide Kudasai!  We look forward to seeing you.” Go to their website for more details. http://jasgp.org/cherryblossomfestival/
